Classification of Rubber Additives
Rubber additives refer to a series of fine chemical products essential in the production of rubber products with excellent elasticity and performance. Common types of rubber additives include rubber anti-aging agents, processing aids, vulcanizing agents and peroxides, special functional additives, and pre-dispersed masterbatch.
Rubber Anti-Aging Agents Lead in Production Proportion
In the 2023 production structure of rubber additives, rubber anti-aging agents accounted for the largest proportion at 28%. Rubber processing aids ranked second, with a share of 21%. Other types of rubber additives each contributed less than 20%. Pre-dispersed masterbatch, as an emerging product, accounted for only 5% of the total rubber additives production in 2023.
Rubber Anti-Aging Agents Maintain Production Above 360,000 Tons
Rubber anti-aging agents, which enhance the storage and service life of rubber products, represent the highest output among all rubber additive categories. Since 2015, production has remained between 360,000 and 420,000 tons. In 2023, output reached 421,500 tons, marking a year-on-year growth of 6.93%.
Pre-Dispersed Masterbatch Production Exceeds 60,000 Tons
Pre-dispersed masterbatch is a new type of green rubber additive with a relatively small production volume. Since 2020, China's pre-dispersed masterbatch production has remained above 60,000 tons, reaching 75,700 tons in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 2.58%.
Significant Growth Potential for Pre-Dispersed Masterbatch
In recent years, with the continuous promotion of China's "carbon neutrality and peak emissions" goals, the green development trend in the rubber additives industry has gained momentum. The government has introduced various policies encouraging enterprises to develop new, environmentally friendly additives. Green, innovative rubber additive products such as pre-dispersed masterbatch hold great potential for future development.
